Going back to minimal manipulation
The reason i have gone back to doing normal photos and choosing not to edit them is because i like this idea f photos, i think today's age everything is manipulated for the better to make everything the best it can be. In this photo set i will pick one or two photos to enhance slightly. The will probably include editing contrast levels and so forth. With the starting point from martin kippenburg his whole image was about manipulating form the canvases being a wall to the lamp post being bent.
This is a photo of an electricity box ( to be honest i don't know what it was), but the point being it had a sign on it. I took this photo with the settings on 1/1000 and ISO 100. i also used an aperture 1.8f which i had on a 50mm this meant i could get a nice depth of field effect. Also using a 50mm lens it meant i could take this photo from head height and didn't need to get into a awkward position. With this set of photos i didn't want to manipulate them too much so the only thing i really did to this photo was change up the colours a bit. as you can see the colours on the side of the box are quite blue. which could either be unnatural or a weird fungus. the was done by making the colour depth greater but only in that sector. i messed around with curves as well so that is why the other colours might seem unnatural but the side is where the depth has been changed. i only did there so that it would be more noticeable and the reds and greens would take over the image. using the low aperture it meant i got a nice depth of field around the image. this ment it added a whole new level to the photo making it more rounded.
i took these photos to revisit the place of the first photo shoot as i was quite pleased how they came out. I also with this photo shoot went to a new place with a few sides to see if i could capture any more interesting signs. these photo were all take with the same setting apart from the ones at the beginning which where taken to try and achieve the best lighting for the shoot. it was a very bright day so the usual settings weren't used. I used 1/1000 and 1.8F and ISO 100 this meant they were all good lighting but i still had a nice depth of field effect like i had achieved in the first shoot. Preliminarily i'm not as please with these ones due to the fact the lighting that day of put many images. We were also in a hurry which meant i couldn't take as many photos to achieve the idea of getting a good photo with little editing which was what the shoot was meant to be about. If it was much easier i would of like to of taken these photos in film but due to how long it takes and breaking my film camera its was not possible.
